A day at the races with Jessie J

So, for my birthday my dad treated me to tickets to the races. After the races were finished Jessie J performed a set, and I’m obsessed with her so I was so happy when I found out I was going. It was so much fun, I got tickets to the county enclosure which means there was a dress code for that part of the races so me, Vik and Frankie got all dressed up.

  races 2

We had so much fun cheering on our horses to win, me and vik put a bet on the same horse called Two Turtle Doves to win and he did! We jumped in the air and hugged each other even though we had only one £10 off it…

Jessie J was amazing, and gave a great performance. I’ve seen her twice now and she’s been brilliant both times. I have so much respect for her, I always get emotional when I see someone i love because I’m a geek so I ended up bloody crying!

My make up for the day included:

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation
Garnier BB eye cream roller
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer
MAC Studio Fix
Bronzer from my Sleek Face Form pallette
Benefit’s Dandelion blusher
Benefit’s They’re Real mascara
MAC Paint pot cream eye shadow and MUA pallette eye shadow
MAC Goddess of the Sea lipstick

July Favourites!

IMG_3290

So, finally I can ramble on about my favourite products to other people rather than my friends. I’m sure they are getting pretty bored of me going on by now. So here are some of the current products that I have been absolutely loving this month.

My first product is The Body Shop sumptuous cleansing butter from the camomile range. This cleansing balm removes make up in a flash, a little really does go a long way with this product, then add a little bit more to remove eye make up. As you apply it to your face it turns into an oil, you just simply wash it off with a face cloth. I know, I thought the same when I first saw it I didn’t like the thought of something oily going onto my face as I have normal to combination skin and I thought that adding and oily cleanser to my face then it would break me out or just make my skin go mental but I was pleasantly surprised when this didn’t happen. Added bonus it smells absolutely beautiful aswell. It’s one of my much raved about products and I’m constantly trying to get my friends to buy it.

Next is the No Clogs Allowed super self heating deep pore detox face mask. I try to apply this twice a week, if not then definitely at least once a week. I use this after I have removed all my make up and cleansed my face to ensure that all my make up has been removed. After my first use of this mask I started to see an instant difference in the visibility of my pores. I started using it more and after around 3 weeks of using it my pores were unnoticeable. I could not recommend this product enough as part as your skincare routine at night, it’s so refreshing for the night and leaves your face feeling super clean.

£11.50

I used to never use eye cream in my night and morning cream but since receiving this little beauty in my Birchbox last month I have not stopped using it and can’t imagine my nights without it. The Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream is a light eye cream which helps to revitalise dull eyes and instantly brightens the eye area. I take a drop of this on my ring finger and massage it between my other ring finger and then gently tap and smooth out under my eye, into the corners and then lightly tap over my brow bone with it. As far as eye creams go I wouldn’t want to try another one as I feel this does the exact job I want from an eye cream.

£20.00

Benefit’s the Porefessional is one of my favourite primers I have used. I have used a range of Garnier and Smashbox primers and would still choose the Porefessional over them. It instantly blurs your face and smoothes over imperfections, it helps keep your make up all day and definitely minimises the appearance of pores as it states. I can easily go to work at 12 in the afternoon and get home at 9pm and my make up is still standing strong on my face, this could be due to a mix of different products mixing well on my face however, I genuinely feel like this makes a huge difference to the way my make up sits on my face and how well it lasts. It’s a bit on the pricey side for those who are just getting interested in make-up but it is definitely worth the money and I can understand the much raved about hype about it.

As for eye concealer goes I’ve been loving the Garnier BB cream miracle skin perfecter in light. It has a roller ball to apply it and I roll it just under my eyes to cover up my dark circles and then bring it just past my eyes so I can blend it onto my lid aswell as I can be prone to the veiny eye-lid. I use a Real Techniques stippling brush to blend this in, personally for me this leaves a flawless finish under your eye and nicely covers up any imperfections.

Another favourite this month is Maybelline Matte Maker, which is a simple matte powder. My colour is 10 Classic Ivory, it’s a very light shade and looks like a very subtle powder highlight. I apply it with the Real Techniques contour brush as I feel this brush is just the right size for the amount of product I need to use on my cheeks. It gives a flawless finish on the top of the cheek bones.

£3.99

The Sharon and Kelly Osbourne collection has not long launched in M.A.C and I have fallen in love with the blush from Kelly’s collection called Cheeky Bugger. I’ve been wearing it most days and think the colour of it is so natural. I feel like it is very similar to Benefit’s Dandelion, which is one of my all time favourite blushers. I’m not usually on the rave about blushers but I understand why this one sold out in so many MAC stores.

Finally, the last thing I have been loving is the Small Stippling brush from Elf Cosmetics. I think this brush is just the perfect size to blend in concealer around my nose, eyes and blemishes. The duo fibre brush hairs are so soft it makes it easy to blend and give and amazing finish instead of picking up most of the product on the brush – For the price as well you can hardly complain.

Until next time…

My first blog!

Hi Everyone,

So my name is Em, and I’ve never had a blog before and thought it would be quite fun to give it a go. I have no idea how i’m going to start off blogging, but as I start to get into it more I’m hopefully going to start talking more about beauty related topics than my rather boring day to day life. Here’s a little insight to me…

I’m from Manchester and I’m 19 years old. My cats Smokey and Tigger are my life, they’re the best (which you will come to realise). I’m currently studying Psychology at University. There’s nothing much exciting about my life. My favourite YouTubers have to be: Fleur DeForce, Lilly Pebbles and Zoella.
